This course will look at the vital— and at times venomous—relationship between American culture and digital technologies. By examining the digital world in a variety of iterations from entertainment to education, the course challenges us to question the ways that digital culture structures, controls, and curates knowledge. Each session will also explore and explain innovative digital tools for archiving images and recording personal histories.

HillJennifer Hill teaches American Studies at MSU and researches and writes in the fields of reproductive history, oral history, and the digital humanities. She is currently at work on a digital archive and museum documenting women’s reproductive experiences.
